Travel Photo Of The Week: Sunrise over Avalon Harbour, Catalina Island

20111108-014451 PM.jpg

This week’s travel photo of the week is my own piccy which I took at sunrise this morning from the bow of the yacht I’m crewing on in California.

I spent the day sat right there righting my diary, Skyping family and watching the world go by. Jealous much? :P

Friday Photographer: Christopher von Wangenheim

Our Friday Photographer is dedicated to Chris von Wagenheim who took very glamourous photographer in the 1960′s. He took great shots of some of the top models such as Janice Dickenson, Cindy Crawford and my favourite Gia Carangi.

This is an image of Gia which is also referenced in the famous movie that Angelina Jolie played of her in GIA.

Friday Photographer: Mikko Lagerstedt sends chills down your spine with serial killer photography

There’s something very serial killer or horror movie about this. Technically, I think they’re incredible and can’t resist staring at them for ages… until I get a bit of a chill down my spine and have to look away. Awesome photography from Mikko Lagerstedt.

Travel Photo Of The Week: Lakeside thoughts by Jeff Luker

Love this shot by Jeff Luker, particularly how still and serene that water is. I bet that this lake is a hotspot for people to come, sit and sink deep into their thoughts.

Travel photo of the week: Terrific lightning storm in Tenerife

Check out this incredible long exposure photograph of a lightning storm in Tenerife!

I found it through a friend of a friend of a friend (etc) on Facebook but unfortunately I don’t know who took it exactly, so if you do, let me know and they’ll be credited.

Man I love lightning photography!!

Friday Photographer: Bruno Dayan

These pictures by photographer Bruno Dayan remind us of a creepy Tim Burton film – very mysterious and imaginative.

Travel Photo Of The Week: Stag peers through woodland

Love the framing from the tres. Love the startled, if not inquisitive, stare of the deer. And love the luscious green of the thick forest and emerald green of the water in the background. Encore, Mark Mahaney.

Mike Stimpson re-creates famous photographs in Lego

I love photography. I (although sometimes they annoy me) love re-makes of famous photographs. And I love Lego. So, what’s not to love about these re-creations of famous photographs using Lego?

These two, of the Tennis Girl and Skyscraper Lunch are just two of many good ones by Mike Stimpson and you can see more on his website.

Friday Photographer: Christine Bauber

Christine Bauber shoots lovely interior pictures and creates a homey country feel. As September is now over, we have posted these pictures to remind ourselves of the past autumn – now lets wrap up for Christmas!

Travel Photo of the Week: Mirror-like ocean by Bobby Bong

It’s Photoshopped to high heaven  but I still love this photograph so Bobby Bong gets this week’s ‘Travel Photo Of The Week’ spot on the Bloggiest Bloggy Blog.

I’d really like to see the pre-photoshop version to compare exactly what cosmetic surgery has been performed.
